This is a fun game not mentioned, it’s called “Civil War”, I’ve heard it referred to as “Standoff” and “Beer Pods” as well.
You will need:
1 Rectangular Shaped Table
A lot of Beer
12 Plastic Cups
4 Players
A spacious room in which to frollic about.
4 Ping Pong Balls
This game is a lot like Beirut, or what’s commonly known as Beer Pong. You need four players, one on each corner of a rectangular table, faces those on either side of the table, forming teams of two. Water cups for rinsing will be necessary. Each team has two triangles of cups pointing toward the player directly accross from you on the side of the opposing team. Each triangle is owned by the person nearest to it. Teams will start with two balls, one for each player. Players begin on a countdown and try to throw the balls into the targeted cups on the opposite end of the table. If a cup in your triangle is made by an opposing player, you must immediately down the drink before continuing gameplay. When all of the cups in your triangle are made, you are out. The team left with the last man standing wins. This game is very active and fast pace as play does not stop when cups are made. Balls must be gathered by competitors with no boundaries. It is best played in an open space that is spill acceptable. Players cannot shoot before finishing a drink. Once players are elimated they may only gather balls for their teammate, they CANNOT shoot. Players are also to return to their “line” behind the table before shooting. Games may vary by options of drink level, type of drink, length of table, number of balls used, or by number of cups in player designated triangles.
This game can be a ton of fun! Spills and loud noise are common so be prepared for both. It gets really physical sometimes but it’s always loads of fun. Strategy is also important as some players may target an individual team member to create a quick “Power Play” or 2 on 1 advantage. The bouncing rule of two drinks for a bounce shot made may be added to enhance gameplay as well. Some games are won due to the support and ball retrieval technique of elimated players. They can play a big role in the final outcome depending on the method you may create to retrieve balls. The game is a rowdy, fun time that requires some teamwork and agility. Good times, have fun!
